Incorporating the schedule information into the Resource Plan gives Daptiv PPM a market-leading capability to support a combination of both top-down and bottom-up resource planning. Keeping the Resource Plan up to date with the reality of the task schedule is critical for the downstream resource and capacity planning activities.
Project Managers now have the ability to start planning their work via the task schedule, and easily update their resource plan to match the resources, resource types, and planned work defined within the WBS. Additionally, throughout the execution phase of a project, any resource plan impacts that result from schedule or task assignment adjustments can be quickly identified and updated.
To aid this capability, the Display menu contains an option that allows users to show or hide the schedule data in the Resource Plan. Activating this option adds a column to Resource Plan that displays the total scheduled time, either Hours or FTEs, for each resource or soft-planned resource type within the WBS task schedule.
To view or hide your resources' scheduled hours:
When the Scheduled option is selected, a new column displays the total time assigned to each resource for the given resource type and time period on the task schedule. The hours will appear under the Resource Type for the assignment on the task. If you change the Resource Type for the assignment, these hours will appear under a different requirement in the Resource Plan. Additionally, any resource assignments that do not already exist as allocations on the Resource Plan will still show up on their own line – with scheduled time but no allocation.
